One sconce or hanging corbel/side table, made of aluminum/steel in a modern, whimsical design. By Michael Aram, signed/engraved (email for pic) 'Aram c (copyright symbol)'94...' located on side/top.. - they are made of a hollow polished steel, aluminum, metal (not certain which) in a kind of 'raw' state Handmade, they still have marks where the metal was bent, has 'shades' in the metal depending on the angle viewed, with a wide top, two 'keyhole' holes in the back of each to facilitate hanging. The design is reminiscent of a 'genie shoe' with a curled bottom tip... Measures 25" high,12" wide at top back, 10 1/2" wide at top front and 11 1/4" at the deepest. Could use a good cleaning/polishing, can be painted or refinished as is. Kept in the original wrapping and is quite clean, rough at the bottom tip. Dating from the early 20th century, this student's desk, originally used in a California Mission school where it was purchased and brought back east. Description: kneehole, quarter-sawn solid oak, single pedestal, three drawers on the left with a gallery. We're selling the desk with an appropriately sized student's chair. The chair seat is made of elm, the style and age is perfectly in line with the mission desk. Desk has a quarter sawn solid oak board (3 boards) as the top, measures 36" w x 26 1/2" h x 27 1/4" d, top board is 3/4" thick, includes a gallery surrounding the back edge on top of the board which measures 2 1/4" high..Knee hole area is 26 1/4" to the top (bottom edge of the top), 18 3/4" w and is 25" deep...3 drawers on right with locks on each, do not have the key, measuring 10" w x 5 3/4" high...Condition: Fantastic, no problems, gouges, chips etc..Original patina, see very light wear to finish as would be in normal spots if it was used...needs no repair, able to use/display immediately...This listing is for pick-up only, is located in Nassau County, Long Island NY...as you could imagine it's quite heavy...Please email for additional info or pics..
